Java 101: LDAP it's not just for Email Addresses & Java Preference API
| Thanks to Ryan Cuprak and Carl Miller for their presentation on LDAP and the Java Preferences API. Ryan covered the basics of java preferences explaining how to use it as well as some of the pitfalls. Carl's presentation started with a brief overview of LDAP and how JNDI is used to map into the LDAP functionality. The presentation then delved into why applications can benefit from storing information in an LDAP directory and examples of the types of information one would store. Some very basic code examples were walked through and references to tools dealing with LDAP were provided in the summary. | |||||||

| As a part of the Java 101 series this presentation will focus on the basics of LDAP and hooking it into JNDI as well as the Java Preferences API which is a part of Java 1.4.
